An Adventure Despite the Weather

I woke up this morning to a world of fog, cold fog to be more precise. Although the weather forecast was clear skies, we realized that we are never truly able to predict these things. We had previously planned on venturing to the coast, but one look outside and we knew we needed to change our plans.

Plan B consisted of the National Gallery and the Dublin Castle. Our first stop was the National Gallery of Ireland which holds a wide collection of Western European art. We were told that the building is made up of fifty-four galleries and contains over eight hundred pieces of art. It was pretty impressive and we had a great time walking through, taking it all in. Photographs were not allowed, but we managed to get a group picture outside the gallery.

After our visit to the gallery, we decided to take a small break for lunch. We found a cute cafe called Cafe Crepe where I split a margarita crepe with my friend Melissa. It was really different, but delicious!

Although it was unusually cold for Dublin, we decided to make our way to the Dublin Castle for a little more exploring. It is a beautiful castle, and although we could only walk around the outside without doing the tour, we still had a great time admiring the architecture.

After a decently long day in the City Center, we caught the bus and headed back to our apartments for a little rest at DCU.
